Happy Valentine’s Day!
This has always been one of my favorite holidays. I love all of the hearts, the chocolates, the flowers, and pink. But most of all, I just love love. This year will be a different Valentine’s Day than usual. Just three days ago, my Grandma passed away from a very aggressive, quick-moving brain tumor. So today, instead of gorging on chocolate candy and watching movies with my husband and dog, I will be spending the evening at a funeral home for my Grandma’s viewing.
Now, this isn’t meant to be depresssing! This day will be unique, but it will still encapsulate the entire meaning of this holiday. Today, I will be celebrating love. I will be celebrating the love of my pure, sweet Grandma, the love of my family, and the love the Jesus.
Life may be hard and light may seem sparse, but love still exists. Oh how thankful I am to have had a Grandmother whose life was the definition of pure love, a Grandma who emulates Jesus Christ and His love. Today, for me, is a celebration of the love and light she brought to this world throughout her life. The flowers, the hugs, and the reminicising is all dedicated to her.
I know, without a doubt, that the love our Heavenly Father has for us far surpasses anything we can possibly imagine. I know that the reason my Grandma was always so loving is becasue she always prayed to be filled with the pure love of Jesus Christ. And because of His love, she lives! May we all feel that love today and everyday. I love you all.
